Common FAQs

As many would ask, here are the FAQs for easy reference. Otherwise you may also view it under "Finding a Tutor" post.

1. I need to find a tutor for my child, how do I go about it?
First, you email us (yourkidstuition@gmail.com) on your requirements (ie: subjects, address, budget) and we will shortlist our pool of available tutors and email you their profile for you to make a choice.

2. Where do you get your tutors?
Our tutors are from Your Kids' Tuition private database which comprises of about 300 tutors islandwide and still growing. Qualification of our tutors ranges from A levels to Degree holders, full time tutors to school and ex-teachers. They are a current pool of Singaporeans who loves and have the passion to teach and do it either on a part time or full time basis.

3. How are these tutors qualified?
Tutors who like to apply to be in my database have to submit a copy of their NRIC, certs, such as O levels, PSLE, Diploma or Degree for verification.

4. I have chosen my tutor that you recommended, now what?
Great. We may now start arranging dates where the tutor can start the first lesson.

5. I am not sure if the tutor is suitable for my child, can I stop the lessons if I find she/he is not suitable?
Yes you may. However, it has to be after one(1) month. Meaning, the tutor must have taught one(1) month or 8 lessons (1.5 hrs/lesson) equivalent. A one(1) month period would be a fairer timeline.

6. Now the tutor has started teaching, what are your fees?
We do not charge any upfront or shortlisting or service fees. Once the tutor has taught for 2 weeks (2, 4 lessons) we would require to pay us 50% of the stipulated tuition fees agreed. The remaining 50% will go to the tutor at the end of the 1 month. Therefore, you pay nothing extra. From the second month onwards, 100% will go straight to the tutor henceforth.

7. How long does it take to find my child a tutor?
Once you have emailed us your requirements, shortlisting would take 1-3 days and once you have shortlisted the tutor, she/he may start immediately following your preferred day/timing.
